Gender Affirming Buttons

Made for daily use in assisting folks exploring identity, gender-fluid, trans, cis-gendered, or anything in between or beyond; displaying identities in confidence and creating more safety for our local skate and snow environments.

As diversity has become steadily more prioritized in action sport industries, there’s still so much room to grow in acceptance and allyship. One area that’s immediately relevant to skate shops is making our spaces more inviting for folks of all gender identities. This is especially important in retail settings with a heavy societal emphasis on cisgendered labeling. To remedy this, I pitched, built, and distributed these free keepsakes at the front of the store to specifically validate our trans, non-binary, and gender fluid siblings. I aimed to shift the shop and event experience in order to normalize conversations around pronouns.
